NCPS achieves continued listing with AHRQ!

Monday, July 23, 2018

On June 25th, the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality notified NCPS that our certifications for continued listing as a Patient Safety Organization (PSO) for another three-year period were accepted. A health care provider can only obtain the confidentiality and privilege protections of the Patient Safety Act by working with a federally-listed PSO. In order to maintain listed status, a PSO must participate with AHRQ in a review of compliance with requirements and attest that it is performing activities required by the Patient Safety Rule. Through the continued listing process, AHRQ verifies that the PSO is performing activities to improve patient safety, that Patient Safety Work Product (PSWP) is being used to encourage sharing of patient safety data and feedback, and that confidentiality of PSWP is preserved. Visit AHRQ's website to learn more about the AHRQ PSO Program and to view all federally-listed PSOs.
