De-Identified Events

NCPS develops and disseminates information about patient safety events that have been reported by members to provide examples of commonly occurring events, or low volume-high risk events that could occur in any healthcare setting. With the reporting member's permission, a case is selected for use and all identifying information is removed to ensure complete anonymity of the patient and of the organization.

These shared learning opportunities include links to best practice recommendations and other patient safety-related resources, references, and an organizational self-assessment tool to enable our members to proactively identify risk and develop mitigation strategies to prevent the event from occurring in their healthcare setting. Shared learning opportunities always ask the question, “Could this happen in your organization?"

The list below displays the topics that have been included in de-identified events that are available to our members.
